These Are a Few of My Favorite Things
In this beautiful week of Thanksgiving, here are some of the reasons that I am beyond glad to be on the planet.
Flannel sheets
Claw foot Bathtubs
Watching the breezes flow over fields, rippling through the wild grasses and flowers.
Water drops, liquid or frozen hanging off every twig and catching the sunlight after a storm.
Sitting next to our huge fir tree in snow storms, all cozy in snow clothes.
I adore snow clothes.
Fires in fireplaces.
Cup of tea with daughters and friends.
Watching wind and rain fly across the surface of water.
People who hug and squish your hands and make you laugh.
Sending vast love in Christmas cards.
Friends and Family dinners outside in the Pond House, fireplace lit, chandelier and christmas white lights sparkling, table set, flowers from the garden in a milk jug, and good food cooking on the Big Green Egg grill.
To curl up with a favorite book. Some of mine are Susan Branch’s memoirs and her trip to England, Little Women, Paris In The Present Tense, To Kill a Mockingbird, and Atonement.
Singing a Broadway musical; How we love The Lion King, Man of La Mancha, Wicked , Hamilton, and The Sound Of Music.
Best soup of the season: My friend Heather’s: curried butternut squash and pear bisque.
The tiny flower bouquets that children bring in from outside.
Sunrise from my pillow.
May we feel our many blessings tiny and huge everyday. Happiest Thanksgiving to everyone!
